Noizchild and Office 365 are Getting Divorced (Maybe)

Yeah, you read that right. Office 365 and I might be breaking up. I’ve tried everything to get it to work, but it just failed on me. If you have to fight with a writing program to keep it from crashing every time you save, it’s time to wait for the new model. (Word 2019 is coming out next year.)

For now, I am using OpenOffice. It’s just like Word without some of the fancy features. I am coping with it and I like it. If I can figure out how to get it to the save point of where I typed and how to show my word count at the bottom, it would be perfect. For now, I will wait and you can…

Noizchild VS. Office 365

I have had headaches with Office 365. It started back on Wednesday. I had finished a long chapter, but then Word froze up on me and claimed that it ran into an error and needed to close. (It did this a little bit earlier too.) When it closed down, I opened it up and the second half of the chapter was gone. I struggled to keep it open and finish. I ran several repairs on Thursday, yesterday, and today. I even restored to uninstalling and reinstalling it. No dice. I finally had to call custom service. He walked me through the process and got it fixed. Right now, it’s working. Let’s hope that it works tomorrow. *Fingers crossed*

For now…

Introducing… City Lounge: Berlin (Additions)

These are the new characters of City Lounge: Berlin, Book Two:

  • Julia: 25, Emily’s coworker at Wings International—the Berlin branch
  • Mrs. Disel: German, 58, Emily’s neighbor in the apartment complex, cheeky old woman who is lonely and makes herself too much food, gives said food to everyone in the apartment complex

I wonder what new people or updates we will see when I start on book two of New York.

Also, I dropped my second external hard drive and now it makes a clicking noise when I plug it in and the drive doesn’t read. I am using OneDrive and Google Drive until I have the money to get my external drive fixed. For now…

Moving the Web Site

After x-amount of years, I am moving my web site from Webs to a new domain. Webs won’t let me upload html files under a free account anymore. (Which is bull, because I have been up loading files since I first signed up on Webs.com. I call bullshit on that.)  Plus, Webs have been have a number of problems lately. Everyone is constantly complaining on their Facebook page. I figured after I couldn’t save changes on the pages I already uploaded because of an anti-spam code, I knew it was time to go.

After a little searching, I found a new home with Neocities.org. I signed up and now I am uploading the main site day by day. It’s going to take a while since I have some many files to put up. I will let you all know when I have finished fixing everything. But for now…

RIP Flash Drive

Around 5:30, my flash drive decided to quit on me. I was working on my Wasteland Project when it decided to stop saving because I was out of space. So, I copied my files and put them on my hard drive. Now, I use my hard drive for writing.  I don’t know how this happened. I’ve had that flash drive since about 2007-2008 and never had a problem until today. Weird…

Anyway, I’ve got a new laptop battery. I am still learning to manage between using the battery and not charging it all the time like I did with the first one. I also have a new cooling pad. I haven’t tried really test on my Sims 4 game. It’s cleaner and quieter. I now just need a new monitor light and a charge chord. I tried to clean my laptop fan, but the screws are so small and I don’t have a screwdriver that can get them. This week, Love Addict will be re-published on Wednesday. For now…

I was Off-Focus Last Week

Last week, I could not focus on my writing. I have no idea what happened. I either found myself bored with the draft or I was too busy. I had two birthdays to celebrate last week. (My grandfather and my mother’s). My work wasn’t as great as I wanted it to be. Somehow, the distractions will probably carry over into this week too if I am not careful. Still, I will try to stay on task and get them done on time. More

Presenting… Fall Semester!

Here is the re-post of the release of Fall Semester:

Blurb: On December 19th, 2012, beloved Tokyo University professor David Gabriel and his wife, Ashley were found murdered in their apartment. Shot to death in cold blood. Everyone on campus already knew who did it.

Miho Nakano started out as shy college freshman who fell in love with David, but could never express her feelings to him. When she found that he was married, Miho’s love turned into a deadly obsession.

As the police look for the fugitive student, a timeline of Miho’s decent into murder emerges.

This one was a pain in the ass to be able to re-format it properly in Sigil so that it will go through Draft2Digital. Today, it all up and ready for reading! (Turns out, I have to generate a new table contents for the chapters.) It was a pain, but I finally it! Now, all of the books under the “Noizchild Johnson” name is finished and ready for purchase. All that is left is to re-format the books under the “Canojo Koi” name. Once those are complete, I will try and go back to putting out new content. Until then…
