It was raining tonight. Gail sat on her porch with her coffee-hot chocolate in hand. She just got home from work. The hospital shift really wore her down. Summer was the worst. Or was that winter the worst? Gail couldn’t decide. Right now, she was alone in the house. Her roommates were gone for the weekend.

Lilian closed her eyes and took in the sounds of the rain and thunder outside as she lay in her bathtub. She took in a happy, deep breath. This was heaven.
Was she supposed to be in the bath during a storm? It didn’t matter to her. Lilian had been looking forward to this since yesterday. Her boyfriend was going to be gone for the weekend. Lilian was going to have the loft apartment all to herself. Lilian smiled and giggled.

Yes, we have reached the end of this series. I don’t know if I am going to add more or not yet. I am going to have to see. But for now. Here is the end of season one’s City of Rain.
Chapter Fifty: Putting the Pieces Together:
I don’t know what to believe anymore. I looked at all of the notes I left on the floor. The voices in my dreams are getting louder. I can’t see anything, but I believe it’s in a hospital. A woman said, “doctor”.
“It doesn’t look good.”
What did that mean? What did look good? I looked down at my hands. Why was I shaking again?

Chapter Forty-Nine: Violet and Bruce:
Bruce drove up to his driveway. Looked like a storm was coming. It didn’t matter to him. It was always the same anyway. He had all but given up on leaving the city. Where was he going to go anyway? There were probably other cities with endless rain.
The detective shook his head. There he went again. Thinking more depressing thoughts. Bruce laughed dryly to himself. Was this what had become of him? Did the rain make him this jaded? He better stop before things got worse in his mind. Bruce turned off his car and climbed out. It was then he noticed a hot pink car parked next to him. That could only mean one thing.

Chapter Forty-Six: Night Patrol:
Bruce and his partner had to work tonight. This time, they were going on patrol. No one wanted to do it in the rain. Sometimes, they would have to draw straws. Bruce and his partner got the worst of it tonight.
“Ready to do this?” the partner asked.
“Not really,” Bruce said. But they didn’t have a choice, did they?
The streets were empty at this time of night. Most of the businesses were closing up. Only a few places were open 24/7. The detectives walked along the empty, rainy streets. The partner turned to Bruce.
“So how is that lady doing?” he asked.
“Fine,” Bruce said.

Chapter Forty-Five: Just a Cup of Coffee:
I gave Bruce a strange look. “You want to do what?”
He shrugged. “I just want to make sure that you are okay.”
“And you want to take me out of a date for that?” I asked.
“Not a date,” he said. “Just a cup of coffee.”
“Just you and I?” I asked.

Chapter Forty-Two: Another Trip to the Library:
There was only one thing that I could do. Sam didn’t look so convinced with my idea.
“Are you sure that you want to do that?” he asked. I clenched my fists on the table.
“It’s all that I know,” I said.

Chapter Forty: Little Hints:
I looked down the six pieces of paper sitting on the foot of my bed. Each one looked angrier than the last. Who was leaving me these? That wasn’t the only thing either. Sometimes in my dreams I hear whispering and beeping. This started about two nights ago, I believe. At first, they were soft in the distance. But now, they seem to be getting louder. I quickly covered my ears and gritted my teeth. What was going on with me? Where am I? Why is this happening to me?
I whipped my head around when I heard knocking on the door.

Chapter Thirty-Nine: Beth:
Beth always believed Jared’s lies. What choice does she have? She knew what he was up to. Did she know who the other woman was? Beth didn’t say.
“Beth? Beth?”
The woman looked up. “Hm?” A woman with a short black bob stared at her.
