Cooking with Noizchild

I have been thinking about doing some Asian cooking this summer. So far, I have made one dish three weeks ago. I made a dish called Curry Udon. It turned out pretty good. It can be found on the site, Just One Cookbook. I’ve also made some curry. Yesterday, although not an Asian dish, I roasted some pineapple. My mom enjoyed it and I think I will be making more in the near future. What am I making next? I plan on making chilled tofu, also found on Just One Cookbook. I just need to try and get all my ingredients together. I’ll have to get you the pictures later. For now, look at the pictures of all the dishes I made in the past and…

City Lounge: Paris (Book Two, Chapter Eleven: Cafe Work Day)

Chapter Eleven: Cafe Work Day:

The next day, I awoke to my cell phone buzzing. I grumbled to myself as I reached around for it. Oh come on! It’s my day off. Can’t you let me sleep in and call in someone else to work?

“Hello?” I asked.

“Will!” a familiar voice filled my ears. “We’re in big trouble! Come down and help us out!” I sat up with big eyes.

“Simone?” I asked. “What’s the problem?”

“We have a full lunch shift at Mama’s cafe today,” she said. “We’re going to need all of the help that we can get!” Just like that, I was under her spell. More

City Lounge: Paris (Book Two, Chapter Seven: Cooking Therapy)

Chapter Seven: Cooking Therapy:

Over the past few days, I have been learning how to cook the French way. It’s actually helped me get over Paula, really. (I don’t know what to do fully make of the Simone situation, but that’s not the focus today.) I have come to enjoy shopping in the markets. I was missing out on this? Plus, I am saving money too? Sweet!

I started off with that fruit salad.

“You do know all of the basics of cooking with fruit, right?” Simone asked.

“Of course,” I said. “Don’t you have to wash it, peel it, and all that?” More

City Lounge: Paris (Book Two, Chapter Five: Simone, Up, and Down)

Chapter Five: Simone, Up, and Down:

-Saturday Morning-

I woke in my bed from yesterday evening. I rubbed my forehead as I looked around.

“Where am I?” I muttered.

“Your place,” I heard someone answer. I looked and saw Simone sitting at the foot of my bed.

“So good to see you awake,” she said. I tilted my head.

“You dragged me home yesterday?” I asked.

“I had to. It wouldn’t be right to leave you laid out in the shop.”

I looked at her with big eyes. “What happened to me?”

“You drank your coffee too fast.”

“Coffee?”

“Yes.”

I tilted my head before it donned on me. “Oh…”

“Yes. You drank it too fast. You’re not supposed to do that.”

“I’m not?”

“No.” She smiled when she said that. I began to remember the activities in that shop. I looked that Indigo Queen in her the eyes. More

I was Off-Focus Last Week

Last week, I could not focus on my writing. I have no idea what happened. I either found myself bored with the draft or I was too busy. I had two birthdays to celebrate last week. (My grandfather and my mother’s). My work wasn’t as great as I wanted it to be. Somehow, the distractions will probably carry over into this week too if I am not careful. Still, I will try to stay on task and get them done on time. More

Sayonara 2015!

This marks the last entry of this blog for 2015. I still can’t believe that this year is almost over. Anyway, I only have to big goals for 2016:

  • Find myself a developmental editor
  • Promote myself more

I will need a little help with the first goal. Does anyone know where to start? Please send me your comments. I will look for an editor for a reasonable price with high skills. I can do the second goal by myself.

Other than that, I will watch Clockwork Orange, wear my kimono, have Japanese food, and bake cookies on Thursday. Oh yeah more writing. Right now, I’m going to wrap up and go to bed. Night.

Back On Track!

Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving yesterday? Mine was pretty decent. Dinner was delicious. No Asian food this year, but I made green bean casserole and butter pecan cookies. My grandmother had me use frozen green beans instead of canned. It was good, but the texture felt kind of weird. My cookies were a hit. My mother’s coworkers want some.

Today, I finally got a new phone. I needed one so badly too. (My previous one kept dying on me and it would cut off when I would drop it and the battery would pop out.) I’m just waiting for my case to come in now.

The editing for Fall Semester is going wonderfully. I have gotten through seven chapters already. I plan to work on chapters eight through eleven tomorrow. It looks like it will probably be early December or Sunday to  Monday when Fall Semester will be published. Also, tonight I will finish a fanfic that I had worked on for a long time. I have finished a couple of works this year. I wonder how I will do next year.

Coming Together

I apologize for not posting yesterday. I ran out of time yesterday, but I am back with this and next week I promise that I stay on the ball. With that out of the way, here is this week’s post.

So I am about to send off one work for beta reading and I’m going to send another off as well. I am looking for a third one. I am planning to make something sweet for Halloween as well. I want to make chocolate chip cookie dough bark. Tomorrow, I begin my part-time day job . (Wish me luck.)

Next month, I will start my controversial album cover display on my Blogger blog. Also, NANO begins. (Yay!) Plus, I will have more goodies out for the world to read.

For now, night-night.

Easter Allergies and Falling Behind

How was your Easter? Mine was a little dull if not for a slightly health problem that spanned into three days. It all started Sunday when my left hand was aching and I didn’t know why. By Monday, the pain spread to my right hand. By Tuesday, I was broken out and my lower lip had swollen up. Plus, the pain from my hands moved down to my feet. When the break-out spread on my body, I was taken to urgent care and prescribed medication. Turns out, I had a allergic reaction to something, but I still don’t know what it was.  I’m fine now, though.

Anyway, I watched some interesting movies this week. The I Inside turned out to be rather decent. I won’t spoil it in case you want to see it for yourselves. The Manchurian Candidate 2004 version was pretty good. (I still can’t believe that Denzel Washington is sixty years old. That man is old!) I saw Waking Life again on Easter. Unless you like philosophy and people just talking on and on about different topics, I would suggest that you would skip it. I liked Total Recall, the 1990 version. It’s a bit hokey, but hey, they were coming out of 80’s when they made this movie. Next up was The Machinist. It was pretty good too. Finally, I saw Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. Good, but bizarre movie. It makes want to go read the book. Today, I am going to watch Showgirls and K-Pax. I know Showgirls is crap, but don’t we all need stupid entertainment in our lives once in a while? Plus since HBO on demand is free for the weekend, I will binge on John Oliver and check out Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I finally got a book on my Kindle. (Finally, something other apps and rented textbooks on my Kindle! Yay!) It’s titled, Japanese Erotica Collection by Harry Lime. I should be able to handle to break my laziness with reading. Though, I have been doing good with manga and another book called, Self-Editing for Fiction Writers. (In fact, I finished chapter four on Wednesday.) As for my editing, I have been falling behind on Six Days. Hopefully, I can get it done by Sunday. Plus, I will check on Sins of Women and try to find someone to look at volume of Hapless Cupid. I also got a big jar of kimichi to munch on. Yummy!

That’s it for now.
