I Need Some Recomendations

I am feeling lazy again with my watching things. I did start Inside No. 9 last week and the first episode was quite interesting. I might go back to it when I’m not so lazy. Fixing the pictures on my site is going well. It’s still going to take me a long time to change those pictures from Photobucket to Imgur, but the Chrome extension, Fix Embedded Photobucket Images, just made it a little bit easier for me.

Meanwhile, I’m waiting for American Horror Story: Cult to start up in two weeks. In the meantime, I am looking for something new to latch onto to help break my laziness and get me back into the rhythm of watching my backlogs again. Anybody have any ideas? Comment below in the comment section. While you’re at it…

In Need of Something

I want something exciting. I could watch some of the stuff I loaded up on my Hulu list, but I have to beat my laziness first. I could resume my anime watching again, but I’ve too lazy from that too. I’m slowly burning through my podcasts. (I estimate that I will be finished with one of them by the end of this month.) I wish to read more, I’m too lazy. Sims 4 is starting to get boring, but I think I just need a new way to play it. I keep stalling with Durarara x2 with Netflix. I have been watching videos from Double Toasted, but that isn’t enough anymore. I did watch a video on Angry Joe’s channel today, but that’s about it. I did video the Batman and Robin Hilariousity video from Chris Stuckmann’s channel for a little bit, but then I went back to work. Last night, I listened to Lara Thompson read that god awful Harry Potter fic, My Immortal, and critique while I played Sims 4.

<Sigh>

Maybe, I will just stuck up and get over my laziness and pick back up with Misfits. Wish me luck, but for now…

Rating System

I thought of this while I was in bed last night. I decided that if I ever get off my ass and start reviewing anime/Japanese movies/J-Dramas, I will put in place a rating system. It will go zero through ten and the names will be all of the following starting from ten downwards. These might be subjected to change if I come up with better labels for them:

10: Shut Up and Take My Money!

9: Download

8: Rental

7: Stream

6: Kill Time

5: Meh

4: Could be Better

3: Nothing Else On

2: Garbage

1: Background Noise

0: Fuck This Shit!

I think that’s good for now. And while you’re at it…

Controversial Album Covers VIII (End?)

Sadly, I am running short again this year. The project keeps getting shorter and shorter each year. It makes me sad. I might have to stop it here this evening unless you guys send me more covers that I haven’t done. In order to do that, e-mail me @ noizchild@yahoo.com. For now…

Year: 2016

The Hotelier: Goodness

the_hotelier_-_goodness

The Problem: The album cover shows a group of middle-aged nudists posing in the middle of a forest. The group consists of five women and three men. The album cover was completely pixelated for its iTunes release, and many online news outlets overlaid a black box over the explicit areas.

My Take: I have no words for this. This reminds me of that French child’s clothing ad that accidentally had that nude middle-age man in the background. Yeah… I have nothing else for this. Make up your own joke for this.

Dizzee Rascal featuring Will.I.Am: Something Really Bad

dizzee-rascal-something-really-bad

The Problem: The single artwork shows a woman dressed in black, tight clothing with both her hands placed on top of her buttocks. The single cover and music video were described as sexist and controversial by many critics including The Guardian.

My Take: It isn’t that bad. In fact, this is nothing compared to the album covers that I have been posting in this project for years. As for this being sexist, unless it’s playing on the title, I don’t see anything wrong with it. What’s wrong with women showing off their sexuality?

Year: 2012

Two Door Cinema Club: Beacon

two_door_cinema_club_-_beacon

The Problem: The cover features the bottom half of a female’s body, with her skirt as part of the ceiling. It was criticized of being sexually offensive as the female’s underwear and legs are very clearly visible.

My Take: Sexually offensive? Nah. Tacky? Oh yes. It looks like a tacky ceiling decoration in a sleazy bachelor pad. I remember seeing this cover on a Worst Album Covers of 2012 List online about four years ago. Frankly, I agree with the list.

Controversial Album Covers VIII (Pt. 10)

Year: 2012

Rob Zombie: Mondo Sex Head

rob_zombie_-_mondo_sex_head_vinyl

The Problem: The cover features a nude female’s buttocks, but after controversy arose, it was replaced by an image of a cat, which was referred to as a “pussy shot”.

My Take: Again, I have a hard time picturing this cover with Rob Zombie. Then again, the image fits the title. She’s not completely naked. The cat image looks really stupid. This one looks much better. A little out of place for Rob Zombie, but better.

Controversial Album Covers VIII (Pt. 9)

Year: 2003

Biffy Clyro: The Vertigo of Bliss

biffyclyro_vertigoofbliss

The Problem: The cover shows a woman sitting down with her hand up her dress, presumably masturbating with a look of pleasure on her face. The controversy of the album cover is accompanied by the incredibly erotic artwork of the singles “The Ideal Height”, “Questions and Answers” and “Eradicate the Doubt” (all designed by Milo Manara). Despite being considered offensive and sexist by some, ShortList magazine praised the band for their bravery and originality when they mentioned it in their list of 50 Coolest Album Covers Ever.

My Take: What’s wrong with showing a woman pleasuring herself? Newsflash: women enjoy sex too. Manara was celebrating women’s pleasure. This isn’t sexist at all. The women’s even dressed. I do like covers to the singles too.

Controversial Album Covers VIII (Pt. 8)

Year: 1996

White Zombie: Supersexy Swingin’ Sounds

supersexy_swingin_sounds_cover

The Problem: The album’s cover depicts a naked woman relaxing in a hammock in front of a driveway and a sidewalk. Later, the cover was reprinted featuring the woman wearing blue bikini.

My Take: This cover seems to be a bit out of place for Rob Zombie. The title makes me think of jazz in a way. Still, it isn’t that bad. You can’t really see anything. The more I look at it, the more this cover fits the title. It’s just that the cover doesn’t match the band.

Controversial Album Covers VIII (Pt. 7)

Year: 1994

Frenzal Rhomb: Dick Sandwich

dicksandwhich

The Problem: The cover shows several severed penises, some of which are being used as filling in a sandwich. They were subsequently banned from some venues and record stores.

My Take: Ouch! This looks painful. I’m a woman and I wince when I look at this cover. It reminds me of Lorena Bobbitt in a way. Or Jeffery Damher. Yeah… I’m going to stop now. Onto more pleasant things.
