I Need Some Recomendations

I am feeling lazy again with my watching things. I did start Inside No. 9 last week and the first episode was quite interesting. I might go back to it when I’m not so lazy. Fixing the pictures on my site is going well. It’s still going to take me a long time to change those pictures from Photobucket to Imgur, but the Chrome extension, Fix Embedded Photobucket Images, just made it a little bit easier for me.

Meanwhile, I’m waiting for American Horror Story: Cult to start up in two weeks. In the meantime, I am looking for something new to latch onto to help break my laziness and get me back into the rhythm of watching my backlogs again. Anybody have any ideas? Comment below in the comment section. While you’re at it…

What to Say This Week?

No news tonight,

The city’s quiet,

Steel Prison‘s still in limbo,

(I need to ask when my mother will get around to it),

There’s nothing for me to rant about at the moment,

Life is going well,

I haven’t cooked anything lately.

<Sigh>

But it’s Monday and I have to post something.

Oh well, I guess I’ll just make up something off the top of my head.

I sit down and begin to type.

I am a Bit Stuck

I have a bit of a problem. No, I already fixed the Photobucket one. I’m talking about the one for the main site.

I started out at Webs, but then it started to have problems. So, I moved to Neocities. That was great for a while, but it started to conflict with Photobucket in Chrome and Firefox. So, I went back to Webs. That was going fine until my files stopped loading and I couldn’t get the upload function to work. And they haven’t done anything to fix it. I can’t even reach them and they aren’t responding to my various complaints. I’m thinking that it’s time to move back to Neocities or find another server if the problems aren’t sorted. Anyone know of web servers that are free and will let me upload files? I’m open for suggestions. For now…

Rant Corner #6

I’ve been sitting on this for close to a week, but it just has to come out. So here goes.

Ever since 2004, I have used this picture storage site called Photobucket. I just uploaded my pictures and hot link the to my web site to save space because I am so broke at the moment. Everything’s been going go.

Until this month.

For some reason, some “genius” decided to stop allow hot linking to third-party sites. This blocked out pictures with an image saying you need to go to this link to upgrade your account. In order to have your pictures back on your site/forum/blog, you have to pay up to $400 a year.

Are you kidding me?! This is a joke, right?! NOBODY WANTS TO PAY $400 TO HOT LINK THEIR PICTURES! What makes it worse is that Photobucket changed their terms of service without any warning whatsoever. People are pissed! There are many complaints on their Facebook and Twitter pages. I even signed a petition for them to change their policy back. Photobucket has done nothing to address their problem or fix it. Now, I understand needing money to keep the site open, but $400 is not a reasonable price to charge for ANYTHING online. $50 or lower is reasonable, but not $400. It would be one thing if Photobucket said, “Hey everybody, we’re going to be doing this” ahead of time. But they didn’t even do that.

I’m on Imgur now and will have time fixing all the pictures on my site. (Even more so since the files on Webs won’t load and I can’t get the upload function to work. I keep asking for tech support to help, I haven’t heard anything back from them since last week. I might go into that for another rant if nothing changes.) I even have my pictures backed up on various CD’s. But the problem is figuring out where the hell everything goes on my massive and forever-growing site. Argh! Photobucket and Webs keep creating more work for me and tech fail that are driving me crazy! Can I just have one day without tech fail and have my web running and functioning how I want it?! Is that too much to ask for?! IS IT?!

Not Much to Say

I couldn’t really think about more to write tonight. I have a couple of projects coming up. Work is going really well lately. My cable is gone, but I will get it back when I make enough money. I started watching Misfits and season two of Animals. Other than that, that’s about it. I didn’t really plan this week’s post out. Maybe next week will be better, but for now…

New Book Publishing in the Works

Good news, everyone!

Sometime in June and July, I will be publishing a book that I have been sitting on for years. The title will be called Steel Prison. I have been it through Nano and the now-defunct Autonomy. I will have it beta read to get it polished up one more time. (It’s been edited a good number of times. I forgot how many.) There was a cover for it on Autonomy, but I think I lost that one. I made a cover during my college years for like a hard cover copy for a digital photo editing class, but it’s the wrong image format. Speaking of hard covers, this might be my first book that I will have made into a hard copy along with ebook. I will see if that turns and if it is possible.

Stick around and see everything unfold, until then…

So Close to Thirty, but So Far Away

Yes, that is right. I am one more year closer to the big 3-0. It doesn’t feel like it yet though. Still, I can’t wait to see how Friday will go for me. I can’t wait, to be honest with you.

I have no big projects planned for next month. I’m just going to keep writing as usual. I do plan to finish a story or two next month. My Netflix queue is shrinking again. I’m not down to six items. I have made some really good progress in that department this month.

It’s kind of hard to write something here when I’m not posting the City Lounge Project. (I’m resuming the New York section this Thursday.) Speaking of which, book one of the project will be finished by April. Then, it will cycle back to Paris for book two. Hm… Maybe I should post showcases of my fanfics to fill the non-posting in between. If I do that, I will have to tact on another day in the week for posting. For now, I will focus on adding more to New York in the project. Stick around for volume two of Dreamland in April. Until then…

R.I.P. Pinky

Christmas 2008- February 15th, 2017

That’s right. Pinky has died. My first laptop has decided to stop working. What exactly happened? Was it the hard drive? A virus? Nope. The cmos battery holder came off. I kind of messed with it a year before just to get o the CMOS battery out to change it. I tried to super glue the holder back on and change the CMOS battery, but when I booted it back up the laptop, it said “Time of Clock has stopped”. Yep, it’s dead. I took out the hard drive to get the data off, but I don’t have the chords to connect to the new laptop. Speaking of which, I am using my new laptop (Which I have named Celty) and it is sweet! It has more space and the downloads on iTunes are much faster. Plus, the battery lasts longer than Pinky’s second battery.

It’s funny, Pinky lasted through the whole Obama administration. Oh well. I guess I figure out to fix Pinky one day and the other external hard drive. But for now…

A Brief Announcement

I would like to take this time to make a brief announcement to you beautiful people:

I am looking to publish volume two of Dreamland somewhere between March and April. It might be before or after I go on vacation. I will have to see how my schedule looks before I send it off to the beta reader. Meanwhile, I am still moving my site. I have taken to fixing some of the music on some of the sections. I’m shocked that sixteen years could total up to so many pages. Tomorrow, I will be posting some things as gifts as Valentine’s Day.

Meanwhile in my little life, I have been burning through my Netflix queue. I’m down to about nine to ten items left on the list. I kind of wish the American Netflix had more anime and Japanese movies and TV shows. They used have A LOT of Japanese movies, but most of them disappeared. <sigh> It’s a shame, really. Maybe when they faze out their DVD section maybe we’ll see a bigger selection in the American Netflix.

Also, my car is currently being served. (Yippy, not!) I’m waiting for Toyota call back and that it’s ready. It’s not like I really need it right away, though. (I work from home as freelance writer.) Still, I would like to have my car. I need to put gas in it too.

Anyway, be on the look for volume two of Dreamland. Until then…

Moving the Web Site

After x-amount of years, I am moving my web site from Webs to a new domain. Webs won’t let me upload html files under a free account anymore. (Which is bull, because I have been up loading files since I first signed up on Webs.com. I call bullshit on that.)  Plus, Webs have been have a number of problems lately. Everyone is constantly complaining on their Facebook page. I figured after I couldn’t save changes on the pages I already uploaded because of an anti-spam code, I knew it was time to go.

After a little searching, I found a new home with Neocities.org. I signed up and now I am uploading the main site day by day. It’s going to take a while since I have some many files to put up. I will let you all know when I have finished fixing everything. But for now…
