I Finally Did it!

Group

I finally finished all two hundred episodes of Sailor Moon. It was a long process that I began back in 2017. (Maybe it was 2016, I don’t remember.) I dove in on it. Then I stalled for a few months. Then, I picked it back up again. I literally finished Sailor Moon R when I was twenty-nine and started S when I was thirty. (I started S on my birthday this year.) How was it? It’s much better than the DIC/Cloverway. The more I watched, the more I realized that DIC didn’t understand the concept of showing and not telling. The Japanese uncut version relied on showing and not telling the audience what was going on. You could see what was going on and understand the story. Some of the edits didn’t make sense. (No, DJ Ranma S, I don’t care what you say. Even if they were trying to make it like Clueless, there were still some edits that didn’t make sense.)

The only downside is the filler. The ’92 version has so much filler. The first half of R is nothing but filler. If you can get past the filler, it’s a decent anime that doesn’t always follow the manga. Other than, it’s decent nostalgia. Sailor Moon Crystal corrected the filler and story line problem. It will a long while before I get to Crystal. Right now, I am going to watch One Outs next.

I Need One More Film for My Asian Horror Month

I have been watching mostly Thai horror films this year. I don’t know what it is, but I think Netflix struck up a deal with Thailand and are streaming a lot of Thai horror movies. Some of them are meh and couple of them are that bad. Only two of them were good. I got in one crappy Indonesian film and one good Vietnamese film. No K-horror this time. I did manage to find some J-horror. There will be one Filipino film tomorrow. It’s bit tit-for-tat with searching.

I need your help. I just need one more film for Halloween. I am going to re-watch Tag and Kairo for the last two days of this month. I just need one more movie to wrap up Asian Horror Month 2018. I am open to suggestions. Post your J-horror suggestion in the comments below. In the mean time…

(Light) Rant Corner #7

I’m not too sure if I should do this. I’m not really angry, just really puzzled one this. It’s just one big mess when you break it down. The story goes like this: More

Controversial Album Covers IX (Pt. 21)

Year: 2002

Impaled: Choice Cuts

fzy8k0y

The Problem: When it comes to goregrind, there’s not much that can be considered shocking given the grotesquery found within the lyrics. While overtly violent, the genre has always maintained an aura of fun with tongues firmly in cheek. However, that doesn’t make album art like Impaled’s Choice Cuts compilation easier to look at, as it features a newborn baby lying in a pool of blood and guts with a hacksaw placed to its throat by the doctor.

My Take: Well, that’s one way to control the population. The gore doesn’t really surprise me at this point. (Just go back and look through this project through all of the gory album covers.) At this point, I am so numb to the shock.

Lore Gore: The Autophagous Orgy

dzgtadw

The Problem: Lord Gore tapped Japanese hentai artist Waita Uziga for their debut record, The Autophagous Orgy. Uziga needed no inspiration considering the word “autophagous” means “self-devouring.” The album cover is a particularly brutal take on hentai (anime porn) with caricatures of women drenched in blood in a sexual feast of human flesh. Lord Gore certainly live up to their band name with this album cover.

My Take: Ero Guro rules this cover. This would make Dir en Grey proud. A little note here: “hentai” means perverted. Americans are the ones who decided call Japanese animated porn as such. I believe it’s egore. I have to look it up later. I tried to look up Uziga-san, but couldn’t find much about him. He does have a manga called, Mai-chan’s Daily Life. It’s just like this album cover. So, yeah… (Plus, there was a live-action movie too. Oh buddy…)

In Need of Something

I want something exciting. I could watch some of the stuff I loaded up on my Hulu list, but I have to beat my laziness first. I could resume my anime watching again, but I’ve too lazy from that too. I’m slowly burning through my podcasts. (I estimate that I will be finished with one of them by the end of this month.) I wish to read more, I’m too lazy. Sims 4 is starting to get boring, but I think I just need a new way to play it. I keep stalling with Durarara x2 with Netflix. I have been watching videos from Double Toasted, but that isn’t enough anymore. I did watch a video on Angry Joe’s channel today, but that’s about it. I did video the Batman and Robin Hilariousity video from Chris Stuckmann’s channel for a little bit, but then I went back to work. Last night, I listened to Lara Thompson read that god awful Harry Potter fic, My Immortal, and critique while I played Sims 4.

<Sigh>

Maybe, I will just stuck up and get over my laziness and pick back up with Misfits. Wish me luck, but for now…

Rating System

I thought of this while I was in bed last night. I decided that if I ever get off my ass and start reviewing anime/Japanese movies/J-Dramas, I will put in place a rating system. It will go zero through ten and the names will be all of the following starting from ten downwards. These might be subjected to change if I come up with better labels for them:

10: Shut Up and Take My Money!

9: Download

8: Rental

7: Stream

6: Kill Time

5: Meh

4: Could be Better

3: Nothing Else On

2: Garbage

1: Background Noise

0: Fuck This Shit!

I think that’s good for now. And while you’re at it…

Planning Ahead

Good news, everyone!

I am going to publish a new light novel series, Dreamland, soon. I already sent it off to a beta reader to read it. I really do love writing this. I have an idea on how the journey will end, but I don’t know how I am going to get there. For now, you will get the treat of reading volume one of Dreamland really soon.

Things have been going great for me. I am really loving my job. Waiting for the pay is a little annoying at times, but it’s all great. I can’t wait to write more with my job. I started watching Princess Jelly yesterday. So far, I have only seen two episodes of it. My Teenage Romance Comedy Snafu was good. I might go back and watch season two once I clear through my list of anime. (It just keeps on growing! Ahhhh! Help me!)

After I publish volume one of Dreamland, I don’t know what I am going to publish next. I will have to look through my files and see what should go up. For now…

Whew, That was a Pain

I finally have this blog organized. It was a pain to get the posts to have their right categories and tags. Despite some leftover tags, I have everything set now.

So, what comes next?

Well, as predicted, more writing. I still don’t have a re-release date for Sins of Women, but it’s coming. Bare with me, please?

I don’t really have much to talk about this week. (I am a little busy doing, what else? Writing.) Maybe next week I will have more to say. Though I have gotten into Detroit Metal City this Saturday after I finished Gatchaman at long last. Whew! All I can say is, poor dude. Each episode is only thirteen minutes long. Because of this, I have spent three days cramming in these short episodes and shaking my head at the utter madness that I watch each episode. I am up to episode nine and I will finish off the series tomorrow. (There are only twelve episodes in this anime. That’s probably a good thing because I don’t know how they would be able to keep up with such madness. The anime isn’t bad, it’s just… insane!) Next up will be the anime version of The Count of Monte Cristo.

I think that’s it for now. I will keep you posted on Sins of Women and when it will be re-released. For now…

Blogging and Book Re-Release

So last week, I merged my blog from Blogger to this blog. One problem: the tags on Blogger ended up being categories on here. So the next day, I had the “fun” task of separating the categories and tags. Let me tell you something: it sucked! So time-consuming, but I got it done. Now, I have to go through and organize the categories again, edit and tag the posts that came from Blogger, and delete duplicate posts. This isn’t going to be fun, but I have to do it to look professional.

Meanwhile, I will be re-formatting Sins of Women tonight. I don’t know when I will re-release it yet. After this, I will only have Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked left to re-format and re-released. Tomorrow, I will attempt to do the blog stuff and happily start on the Durarara section of my Wasteland Project. Plus, I will watch said anime on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when I write each halo. (I call the chapters for that section “halos”.) So much to do, but I can manage it. While you wait, you can…

Goodbye Livejournal and Dreamwidth

I have done it. I have bid farewell to Livejournal and Dreamwidth. I am still debating whether to delete them or not. I have decided to merge this blog with my WordPress one. I don’t know when I will do it, but someone gave me the instructions on how to do it. I am will let you know when I will be moving.

The Weekender will be re-released soon. I have a new job now. I will just need to find a full-time job. I can’t wait for August to come so that I can work on the Durarara section of my Wasteland Project. I will let you know when I move and delete my Livejournal and Dreamwidth. Until then…
