Chapter Two: Izzie + Kris II:

-Summer 2012-

It took one week for Izzie and Kris to get close. Izzie herself was picky in her treats ever since that whole Sabrina nightmare. She did everything to never run into another one like her. Izzie voiced her problems to her potential lover.

“So… you’re a lesbian?” he asked.

“Bisexual,” Izzie corrected.

“Oh, I see,” Kris said.  She raised her eyebrow.

“Is that a problem?”

“No, what you are is your business.”

Izzie began to smile. “Smart answer.” She stood on her tip-toes and kissed him on the lips. Kris gently kissed back.

“What was that for?” he asked.

“Was that bad?” she asked. He smiled as he shook his head.

“No, actually,” Kris said. He pulled her into his lap. Izzie giggled at his firm touch.

“Ooo, you seem to know what you want, don’t you?” she asked. She leaned in for another kiss. Kris softly pushed her off.

“Wait,” he said. “Before we do anything, how far do you want to go with this?” Izzie stared at him, looking so confused.

“Uh…” she said.

“I don’t want to have to push you into anything you don’t want to do,” he said. “If you are uncomfortable with something, please tell me now.” At first, his words were hard for her to process.

“Wow…” she murmured. “Well… I never really thought about that.” She had struck someone rare indeed. He didn’t care about what sexuality she was or who she dated in the past. Kris acted patient with her. He even tried her like a lady. Izzie began to smile.

“Can we stay like this for now?” she asked. “I kind of like it this way.” Kris gave her a quick kiss on the lips.

“Fine, we can do that,” he said. Izzie playfully tapped him on the nose.

“Aw, thanks,” she said. How did she meet such and great and beautiful man? There was still so much that he didn’t know about her just yet. For starters, she hadn’t told him that she was polyamorous. Next, there was Dianne. On top of that, there was her eccentric personality. The third one, she could feed to him in bites sizes. But the other two…

If she was going to have a relationship with Kris, she better go ahead and be upfront with it.

“What’s the matter?” Kris asked when he saw the worried expression on her face. Izzie pressed her lips together.

“I haven’t told you the full reason why Sabrina and I broke up,” she said.

“Wasn’t it because she was crazy?” he asked.

“I kind of drove her that way…”

“What do you mean?”

“You see… I am polyamorous.”

“Yes. I just don’t believe in just having one love in your life.” Izzie sighed and lowered her eyes. “Apparently, Sabrina couldn’t handle that.”

“Did you tell her up front?” Kris asked.

“Yes,” Izzie said. “I always tell people who I am interested in that from the beginning when I am about to get serious with them.”

“Is this your way of telling me right now?” he asked.

“What happened with Sabrina?”

“She acted like she was cool with it at first. Then the cracks began to form when I started to get attracted to other people besides her. She constantly accused me of cheating on her.” Izzie shook her head.

“I would never do such a thing to people I love. I am always upfront if there is someone I am attracted to. I would tell Sabrina how I felt and she would always glare at me.” Izzie held out her arms.

“I didn’t understand what she was so mad for,” she said. “I already told her what to expect. I thought we both understood each other. But I guess not.”

“Did you ever talk to her?”

“I tried, but I couldn’t get past the glaring and coldness. In the end, I couldn’t take it anymore and broke up with her.” Izzie nervously laughed.

“Ever since then, she won’t stop bothering me,” she said. The writer rubbed her forehead.

“It turned into such a mess,” she muttered. Kris pulled her closer into his arms.

“Uh… what are you doing?” Izzie asked.

“I’m sorry you’re going through hell with your ex,” he whispered in her ear. The writer smiled, sheepishly.

“I’m fine now,” she said. “Really. I just keep ignoring her.”

“But will that really help you?” he asked. “She’s just going to keep going until you fix the problem.”

“That’s just it. I don’t know how to deal with Sabrina. Look, can we please stop talking about her? Thinking about her just makes me sad.”

“Alright. But only if you let me hold like this for a little bit longer.”

“Fine, you can do what you like. Just promise me you won’t go crazy if I start getting attracted to other people while we date.”

“I will do my best.”

“That will do for now.” Well, part one of three was down. She wasn’t too sure if he understood that she was polyamorous. Understood he wouldn’t be the only one. Understood that there would be more lovers in the picture. How would this beautiful and understanding man take her dating more than one man and woman?

Speaking of which, she hadn’t told Kris about Dianne yet. Oh crap, Dianne didn’t even know that she was polyamorous yet either. Would she turn into another Sabrina? Would Kris turn into another Sabrina? Suddenly, Kris’ strong embrace felt like it was crushing her. I don’t think can handle this.

“I think I’m going to be sick,” Izzie whispered.

“It’s okay,” Kris said back. “I will stay by you no matter what.” The write forced herself to smile. He sounded so reassuring as he spoke. Maybe, this could work out. Izzie turned and kissed him on the side of his neck.

Three years later,  it worked out for all three of them and the craziness of Izzie manages to keep everything just as lively and exciting.
