Controversial Album Covers III (Pt. 14)

Year: 1999

Cannibal Corpse: Bloodthirst

The Problem: Most albums by death metal band Cannibal Corpse were banned in Germany until June 2006, due to the graphic cover art on their albums. For example, Tomb of the Mutilated featured one corpse performing cunnilingus on another. The censored version features a further corpse presumably watching the act (not shown) in adoration.

My Take: Despite the excessive blood, it looks like something out of a manga, almost. I have noticed that the covers get less and less morbid as the years go on. Wonder why.
